    How to crop image

    1. Drop in the image you want to crop.
    2. Choose a ratio or leave it free, then set the crop values. The preview updates as you go.
    3. Click Crop and download.

Why this image tool is private

Cropping redraws the selected region onto a new canvas. It is a local drawing operation, so the image never leaves your device — which matters when you are cropping a photo of a document or an ID.

Other tools in this category upload your file to a server, process it in the cloud, and return a download link. That means your document sits on someone else's disk — often with a retention window measured in hours. Here, the file is read by your browser, transformed in memory, and saved straight back to your disk. You can watch it happen in the live check above: the counter for files uploaded stays at zero.

    Frequently asked

How do I get a square image?
Choose the 1:1 ratio. That locks the crop to a square, which is what most profile pictures and marketplace listings expect.
Can I crop by pixel position?
Yes. Enter the left, top, width and height values directly if you need exact coordinates, or use the ratio presets for a quicker result.
    Is the original image changed?
No. Cropping produces a new file. Your source image on disk is untouched, so you can always start over.
    Does cropping reduce quality?
It removes pixels outside the region, so the crop is smaller than the original. The pixels you keep are copied at full quality, not re-compressed more than necessary.
