    How to webp to png

    1. Drop in your WebP files.
    2. Click Convert to PNG.
    3. Download the result — a single file, or a ZIP if you added several.

Why this image tool is private

Decoding WebP and encoding PNG uses the browser's own image codecs. There is no step that requires the network, so the conversion runs with the connection idle.

Other tools in this category upload your file to a server, process it in the cloud, and return a download link. That means your document sits on someone else's disk — often with a retention window measured in hours. Here, the file is read by your browser, transformed in memory, and saved straight back to your disk. You can watch it happen in the live check above: the counter for files uploaded stays at zero.

    Frequently asked

    Does it keep transparency?
Yes. WebP supports an alpha channel and so does PNG, so transparent regions survive the conversion intact.
    What about animated WebP?
Only the first frame is converted, because PNG in this tool's output is a still image. If you need every frame, that is a different job.
The PNG is much larger than the WebP. Why?
WebP is simply a more efficient format. The same picture as PNG takes more space. That is the trade for compatibility.
Why would I convert away from WebP at all?
Because software support is uneven. Some editors, print pipelines, and older Windows programs still will not open WebP. If a tool rejects your file, converting to PNG usually settles it.
