    Which sizes does it produce?
    16, 32, 48, 64, 128, 180, 192, 256 and 512 pixels. That covers browser tabs, bookmarks, iOS home screens, Android icons and web app manifests.
    Should my source image be square?
    Yes, ideally. A non-square image is centred and padded, which can leave visible empty margins. A square source gives a clean result at every size.
    Do I need a .ico file?
    For modern browsers, no — a PNG named favicon.png linked in your HTML head is enough, and 32×32 is the common choice. .ico is only needed for very old browsers, so this tool focuses on PNG.
    Why does my icon look blurry at 16 pixels?
    Fine detail cannot survive that reduction. Simple, bold shapes read best at tab size. If your logo is intricate, consider a simplified mark specifically for the smallest sizes.
