Why this image tool is private

Rotation and flipping are canvas transforms performed by your own browser. No network request is involved at any stage.

Other tools in this category upload your file to a server, process it in the cloud, and return a download link. That means your document sits on someone else's disk — often with a retention window measured in hours. Here, the file is read by your browser, transformed in memory, and saved straight back to your disk. You can watch it happen in the live check above: the counter for files uploaded stays at zero.

    Frequently asked

What is the difference between rotating and flipping?
Rotating turns the image around its centre, so a landscape picture becomes portrait. Flipping mirrors it, so left and right swap but the orientation stays the same. Flipping is useful for a photo taken in a mirror.
    Does rotating lose quality?
At 90, 180 and 270 degrees, no — the pixels are rearranged, not resampled. Arbitrary angles would require interpolation, which does soften the image, so this tool sticks to right angles.
Can I fix several photos at once?
Yes. Drop in as many as you like, apply the same transform, and they download together as a ZIP.
Will it fix EXIF orientation automatically?
This tool applies the transform you choose. If a photo already carries a rotation tag that some programs honour and others ignore, choosing the rotation yourself removes the ambiguity.
